Nico Prost was fastest in FP2 with a time of 1:15.405 with Lucas di Grassi just a tenth behind in 2nd. Sebastian Buemi was 3rd and began to show cracks in his armour. Having set blistering pace in FP1, he started the session by hitting the wall and getting front-left suspension damage. He was able to rejoin the session in his second car, but missed out on critical track time.

Jerome D’Ambrosio was 4th for Dragon Racing ahead of Robin Frijns and Antonio Felix da Costa, who put in good laps for Season One-spec cars. Stephane Sarrazin was once again 7th ahead of Loic Duval who made a mistake at the final corner on his 200kW lap.

Sam Bird did his qualifying lap early as he was running a different programme to most of the field as he was only able to use one car whilst the team repair the one he crashed this morning. He was 9th fastest ahead of Oliver Turvey who completed the top 10.

Jacques Villeneuve was 11th ahead of Daniel Abt who continue to struggle in the car, spinning on the exit of turn 15 and collecting the barrier which took off his rear wing.

Signs of improvement are still not showing at Mahindra, as Bruno Senna and Oliver Rowland were 17th and 18th respectively, some 3 seconds off the pace.
