Guy Martin today confirmed that he will remain with the Tyco BMW squad for the 2016 season, contesting specific national and international events.
The popular Lincolnshire rider announced earlier in the year that he was to miss the Isle of Man TT due to a clash with a mountain bike endurance event he is keen on entering, as well as stating that he has no intention of returning to the North West 200 due to his disliking of the circuit.
“I've always said the TAS boys are the only team I want to go racing with,” Guy said, “so it was an easy decision to make for next year. We made good progress with the BMW S1000RR this year ad despite the crash at the Ulster, I was pretty satisfied, but that's racing. Now it's just a matter of formulating a plan of attack with Philip (Neal, team boss) and we are good to go.”
Guy will take part in three international races, races at Oliver's Mount in Scarborough and some Irish meetings, though nothing has been confirmed regarding his participation at the TT next year. He will join Ian Hutchinson at the team next year which should make for a formidable force.
