Felipe Massa has been excluded from the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix after his tyres were found to be above the maximum temperature on the grid, losing him 8th place.
The FIA randomly select cars to measure tyre temperatures and pressures to ensure they are legal. Massa’s tyres were found to be 27°C above the maximum temperature of 110°C.
The FIA said: “The rear right tyre on car 19 did not comply with the maximum tread temperature as specified in the event preview of the official tyre supplier. The temperature of the rear right tyre was measured in compliance with the FIA Technical Directive TD/029-15. The team did not comply with the FIA Formula One Technical & Sporting Regulations, FIA International Sporting Code and the instructions of the official tyre supplier in the event preview.”
Massa’s exclusion elevates Romain Grosjean to 8th, Max Verstappen to 9th and Pastor Maldonado to 10th.
