HRC released a press release earlier this week in which they claimed to have telemetry, showing a spike in braking at the moment of Marc Marquez' crash in Sepang at turn fourteen, that proved Valentino Rossi did in fact kick the Spaniard.

Intending to reveal this data to the world today, Honda decided against doing so until after the championship have been won on Sunday and instead gave a press conference to discuss the events of Sepang.

Livio Suppo, HRC Team Principal, said: “We have no intention at all to create any doubt that we are doing this just to give the court another evidence that can influence the decision. We have been thinking about sharing this and talked with Marc and we thing at the moment our priority is this weekend. We are not in the fight for the championship, we've won the last three races and Dani has taken the most points of any rider since Aragon. We want to avoid that anyone thinks we're speaking to the influence the court.

When we believe this information will be less sensitive we will show you the data, we're trying to create the situation as calm as possible. I'm sorry we created expectations, but we don't want to be a part of this championship battle. Marc never did anything to upset this championship and we don't want to put more fuel on the fire. We don't want anyone to think we are creating problems for Valentino.”
