William Dunlop will ride for Chris Dowd's CD/IC squad in 2016. The Ballymoney departed the Tyco BMW team last month after a difficult year on the S1000RR and will ride for the team that fielded him in the Supersport class.

Dunlop will be with Yamaha machinery next year in the Superbike, Superstock and Supersport classes. It will be interesting to see how he gets on with the R1 after his brother Michael ditched the bike on the eve of racing at the TT.

“I am really happy to be riding for CD/IC – Chris is someone I have rode for before, mainly in the 600 class where we had a lot of success”, stated Dunlop.

“I am looking forward to the challenge ahead in 2016. I get on with everyone here and it feels like a second family to me.”

Dowd added: “At his disposal he will have two 600 Yamahas and a special Yamaha R1 superbike, all built by renowned German engine turner Marcus Eschenbacher. Plans for a superstock are also underway ad will be revealed in due course.”
