Renault e.Dams driver Nico Prost set the fastest time in the collective teams' test ahead of the Beijing ePrix.
The Frenchman’s time of 1:37.291 was a stunning 0.621s faster than his teammate. The Renault-backed squad dominated the morning and were the first team to dip below the 1:40’s.
The session was disrupted briefly as reigning champion Nelson Piquet stopped out on track bringing out the red flags.
It’s close behind the e.Dams squad with Vergne, Senna, and Heidfeld all within the 1:39’s. D’Ambrosio, di Grassi, Aby, and Bird were all in the 1:40’s.
It was a difficult session for Villeneuve who didn’t set a representative laptime whilst the Trulli cars are yet to hit the track.
ILM understands that the Trulli cars have some powertrain components held at customs and may not get any running at all this weekend.
