After weeks in the ICU of Dokkyo hospital in Japan, Alex De Angelis is set to fly back home to San Marino this weekend to continue his recover following his nasty crash during the FP4 session for the Japanese Grand Prix.
The E-Motion IodaRacing team released this quote from the San Marino rider:
“Finally, if all goes in the right way, I'll return back home! Of course I will not really be in my house, but in the State Hospital of San Marino where I'll meet again all my friends and where I can finally talk again in Italian with the health care personnel. I want to take this opportunity to thank first of all my family, my father and my brother, that reached as far as Japan to me, my team and Giampiero Sacchi that I have been very close in these days and not least Dr Michele Zasa from Clinica Mobile that was close to me many days by coordinating the work of his Japanese colleagues in the hospital and my return to San Marino too. I am very sorry for what happened, because I have hard injuries, but nothing that will prevent me from continuing to race and for this I am happy. From when I get home ahead, it's waiting for me a long and difficult rehabilitation, but there is the time and the desire to return on the saddle as soon as I can. I don't hide that I would be in Valencia, if I will, to say hello to all the paddock people, perhaps using the Clinica Mobile to continue to do my therapy. Right now I don't want to forget anyone once again thanking all those who have sent me messages – millions – on both personal and socials. Knowing that there are many people who wants you back in action is fantastic in these difficult times. Staying stuck in bed all the time is boring, then every second spent on reading a message was an enjoyable time. I will be back soon!”
As always, everyone at Inside Line Media continues to send their best wishes to Alex and hope for a speedy recovery.
