Kimi Raikkonen has been given a 20 second penalty for colliding with Valtteri Bottas on the last lap of the Russian Grand Prix.

The pair had been battling with Sergio Perez who had been on the back foot having tyre problems stopping early in the race. Both Finnish drivers were able to get past, with Raikkonen on maximum attack going around the tricky turn 3, going down the inside into turn 4.

The Ferrari driver came from a long way back and hit the rear right of the Williams, punting him off the road. Raikkonen continued with broken suspension and finished the race.

After the race, he was asked to see the stewards, which afterwards gave a 20 second penalty to finish in eighth place.

The news that Raikkonen was to be demoted meant that Mercedes would be the Constructors champions for the second year in succession.
