Pirelli secure F1 contract until 2019

Pirelli have been confirmed as Formula One’s sole tyre supplier from 2017 to 2019. Michelin were rumoured to be returning to the sport, but Pirelli’s willingness to do as the sport wishes has won over Bernie Ecclestone, as the sport is set to undergo radical changes in 2017.

The delay in settling the contract came down to a dispute over the number of test days Pirelli are given. The Italian manufacturer wanted to do more testing, and we understand that this has been agreed on.
