De Angelis' Condition Update

  • Oct 13, 2015

E-Motion IodaRacing Team rider Alex De Angelis was taken to hospital on Saturday after a heavy crash in FP4 at turn nine saw him suffer several fractures to his ribs and vertebrae, as well as a lung contusion.

The San Marino rider underwent further checks on Sunday which revealed intra-cranial bleeding. Another CT scan today showed that the bleeding had unchanged and the lung contusion has healed slightly.

His condition is still critical but stable, and he has had his sedation reduced. He has also been able to talk to the doctors. De Angelis will undergo more scans in the next couple of days to see how the situation has progressed and hopefully we'll get some more positive news.

Once again, everyone at Inside Line Media sends their best wishes to Alex and his loved ones.
