Buenos Aires ePrix winner Antonio Felix da Costa has been confirmed at Team Aguri for Season Two of Formula E. There has been a lot of focus surrounding the team, as the first race of the new season in Beijing is just two weeks away, and they do not yet have a full line-up.

“The team are making big steps forward and I believe that we have the tools to fight hard and bring home some solid results," da Costa said, “I really want to thank the team for having me, it is an indication that I did good things for them last year and so now I want to give them something back also.”

Aguri are one of very few teams using their Season One powertrain, and resigning da Costa is part of the team’s focus on continuity and reliability, according to Aguri’s Team Principal Mark Preston:

“Antonio brought us our maiden win in Buenos Aires and helped to develop the team from scratch," he said, “He will continue to build on that success for season two and beyond.

"With Team Aguri focusing on reliability and delivering straight out of the box in Beijing, he will be a crucial part of that strategy."

It was expected that Aguri would sign one of the six drivers they used during the three two-day tests at Donington Park, of which da Costa was not one of them.

Of those who did test for the team, GP2 race winner Nathanael Berthon is favourite for the second seat. He seemed keen on the seat when Inside Line Media spoke to him at Donington testing:

“I would love to race for Aguri,” he said, “I hope they’re going to keep me.”
