Aprilia Racing Team Gresini have announced that they will retain the services of both Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl for the 2016 season.
Bautista has had a very strong season on the undeveloped RS-GP, scoring points on multiple occasions this year including two tenths place finishes in Barcelona and Silverstone.
Bradl joined the team at Indianapolis as the replacement for Marco Melandri and has gelled very quickly with the bike. A race-long scrap with his team-mate in Brno netted him his first points with the team in 14th, and said to me at Silverstone that he was enjoying working with the team.
Both will be riding Aprilia's full-prototype bike next season where it is hoped that all of the development work this year will translate to a highly competitive package.
Aprilia also announced that Sam Lowes will ride for the Gresini Moto2 team and will test the RS-GP throughout the year as he gets prepared to make his premier class début with the Italian manufacturer in 2017.
