AUTOSPORT has reported that Renault will no longer supply Red Bull and Toro Rosso with engines after the end of the 2015 season. Despite the contract not expiring until the end of 2016, it is understood that Red Bull have issued a document asking to terminate the contract.
The famous pairing has won four driver's championships and four constructor's championships, but the relationship began to turn sour when the engine supplier failed to meet the team's expectations in this new turbo era of F1.
Renault have been the focus of much speculation in recent weeks, as they are expected to buy the Lotus team for next year before becoming a full works team in 2017.
Although Honda have said they are looking for a B-team, Red Bull will most likely go with either Mercedes or Ferrari as an engine supplier for next year. However, Lewis Hamilton said this weekend he is against the idea of a potential Red Bull-Mercedes as the pairing would have the capability of toppling Mercedes at the front of the grid.
