Carlos Sainz is set to take a ten place grid penalty at this weekends Italian Grand Prix for changing his Renault engine.

Starting the Belgian Grand Prix late, the team decided to retire the car early from the race. Following the race it was found to have a problem, with the team deciding to change the engine for Monza.

“Yeah, I’m positive even if I’ll have to take a 10-place grid penalty… I really want to at least gain all those positions back in the race.”

It is another set back for Renault who have had to take penalties for both the teams they supply at both their home races. Red Bull in Austria and Toro Rosso in Italy.
