Tough Sunday For Suzuki In Czech Republic

Suzuki endured their worst results of the season at Indianapolis with a lowly 11th and 14th place finish. Brno proved much more promising though after Maverick Vinales secured an excellent 7th on the grid.

He was running in a solid 8th spot when he unfortunately crashed out at turn eleven – his first crash of his MotoGP career.

Team-mate Aleix Espargaro's qualifying didn't go as well. The Spaniard fell out of QP1 and was resigned to 15th on the grid. A decent start saw him climb up the order, and a 9th place finish was a decent recovery. But he lamented his GSX-RR and it's inconsistency with set-up.

“I cannot say I'm happy with the weekend because once again I struggled to find a good feeling with the bike. It is positive that we finished the race and I got into the points, but overal we still need to work a lot harder. I feel disappointed, not only for the result, which is under our expectations, but most of all because I cannot understand why we can't find the good confidence we had in the first part of the season any more. After six or seven laps, when the tyre drops performance, I can't keep the corner-speed and the back-end slides a lot under acceleration. My pace was too slow and we must investigate and understand why we are not performing as we did before.”
