Today, Dorna Sports and the Czech authorities have reached an agreement that will see the MotoGP World Championship return to Brno for at least the next five years.
The deal comes weeks after an eleventh-hour deal was put in place to stage the race this year following a disagreement between Karel Abraham Snr and the South Moravian government over the rights to promote the event. It was revealed that the government had also withheld a sum of €1 million owed from the 2014 event.
In wake of this new deal, the Moravian government and the city of Brno have set up a new organisation that will promote the event.
“The Czech GP is one of the highlights of the Championship as it's been on the calendar for 50 years and we see this weekend again, it's a very popular event”, stated Ezpeleta.
“We are very happy to reach an agreement with the Czech authorities that will ensure the future of the Grand Prix in the Czech Republic for at least the next five years.”
This news leaves just Indianapolis without a future at present, with a draft 2016 schedule rumoured to be in circulation for the San Marino round in September.
