Kent back on top at Brno

He may have left it late, but Moto3 championship leader Danny Kent claimed top spot in Friday Practice and will welcome the return to the front after a disappointing Indy GP last weekend.

The British rider made the most of the last gasp improvements for most riders as the high track temperatures meant a struggle for grip around the Czech track. Kent's overall fastest of the day was 2m08.483s (but eight tenths slower than the record pole position time set by Alex Rins in 2013) and finished 0.167s ahead of a very impressive second place for Brad Binder.

After a crash in FP1, Niccolo Antonelli was third fastest whilst Kent's teammate Efren Vazquez, who had earlier been top in the first session, crashed late on in FP2 and ended the day down in fourth place overall. Similarly, Romano Fenati finished a distant 0.425s adrift of Kent in fifth place and also suffered a crash in FP2 just one week after multiple crashes in practice for the last race.

The winner from the Indianapolis Moto3 GP, Livio Loi, was a lowly 27th of 36 riders and 1.8 seconds off the pace whilst fellow podium finish John McPhee suffered a crash in FP1 and ended the day 18th.

Moto3 FP3 gets underway at 8am UK time with live commentary of the session on our Twitter account @ILMMotoGP.
