Italian Moto3 rider Niccolo Antonelli has renewed his contract with Ongetta-Rivacold Moto3 team and will ride for them in the 2016 Moto3 season.
The 19 year old has extended his agreement with the team and Valentino Rossi's VR46 Riders Academy and will allow for continuity between team and rider into a second season. Antonelli's best result so far this year is 4th place at Catalunya and will be looking to secure a maiden podium in the remaining 8 races of 2015.
After announcing the deal, Antonelli said to motogp.com: "I am very happy to have renewed for 2016 [and] I am doing very well with the team, especially with Mirko Cecchini, my chief engineer. [The focus now is to] finish the season the best we can, we are not too far away from fifth place in the championship, so we will push to achieve this goal."
