Scottish racer Andy Lawson tragically lost his life during yesterday's second Supersport race. Lawson came of at the Deer's Leap section of track and was killed instantly.

This was his début at the Ulster Grand Prix and had said to the Clerk of the Course just before that fateful race that he was very much enjoying his experience of the fastest road race in the world.

A statement from Clerk of the Course, Noel Johnston, read: “I am incredibly saddened by the news that Andy has succumbed to his injuries and my condolences are with his family, friends and race team. He was a lovely guy and and up and coming rider, definitely one to watch.”

Inside Line Media offer our deepest condolences to Andy Lawson's loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

R.I.P Andy Lawson.
