Lee Johnston doubled up at the 2015 Ulster Grand Prix with victory in a tight Supersport race. The General went toe-to-toe with the R6 Yamaha of William Dunlop for the entire six-lap contest, rubbing fairings at almost every opportunity.
The pair were damn near inseparable on the final tour of the Dundrod circuit, but it was Johnstone on the ECC Triumph 675 who just edged ahead by a margin of only 39-thousandths of a second.
The fight for 3rd was just as frenetic, with Glen Irwin, Bruce Anstey and Ian Hutchinson battling it out for the final rostrum. It was newcomer Irwin who beat his more experienced combatants for his first Ulster podium, adding to his international haul which began at the North West 200 in May.
Peter Hickman, on the Trooper Beer MV Augusta, kept Dan Kneed at bay for 6th, whilst Seamus Elliott, Robert Kennedy and James Cowton completed the top ten.
