Efren Vazquez took top spot in Moto3 second practice session with a late lap at the end to finish the day ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Niccolo Antonelli. The change in grip levels and track temperature made for a thrilling FP2.

The session started with incident as Renato Fenati crashed out on his first flying lap of the afternoon and was unable to return to the track before the end of FP2. Shortly after, Antonelli also came off his bike but, unlike his compatriot, Antonelli's bike was repaired by the team and he was able to rejoin later in the session. However, Antonelli managed to have a second incident which required his bike to be fixed again by his team. Astonishingly, the Italian managed to surge into third place in FP2 (fourth on combined times) despite limited practice laps.
Elsewhere, the injured Jorge Navarro (who fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in the first practice session) showed no signs of slowing down as he shone near the top of the order throughout and finished the session in an emphatic 5th place.
As the session time ticked down to just 10 minutes remaining, the riders pitted for fresh tyres and then came the continuous changes in the order and new fastest lap times. Vazquez, Kent, Navaro, Quartararo, Antonelli and many other riders hit the top before eventually Leopard Racing's Efren Vazquez took the chequered flag with a 1m41.266s in perfect air and track conditions.
Championship leader Danny Kent failed to improve in the second session but ended the day in third place on combined practice times. The Briton will be looking to gain some time in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the Indianapolis GP on Sunday.
Once again a closely fought Moto3 race looks very much on the cards as the top 12 were covered by less than 1 second. FP2 Top 10 were:
1st Efren Vazquez, Leopard Racing, 1:41.266
2nd Fabio Quartararo, Estrella Galicia 0,0, 1:41.434
