Kent Picks Up Where He Left Off In Indy FP1

Moto3 returned to action this afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after a four-week summer break.
And it was business as usual for championship leader Danny Kent. The Leopard Honda rider sat on top of the time sheets very early on, and returned late in the 40-minute session on a fresh set of Dunlop's with a monster time of 1:41.437, which is just under 8-tenths away from the fastest ever lap set by Jack Miller last year.
It wasn't a totally smooth session for the Briton; he crashed in the final 3-minutes of the session when he lost the front-end of his Honda on the brakes for turn 10. He was perfectly okay, but the bike suffered a broken gear shifter and he was unable to ride it back to the pits.
Team-mate Efren Vazquez returned to form at the Sachsenring last time out with a 2nd place finish, and looked on the ball this morning with the 2nd fastest time. The Spaniard, who won his maiden Grand Prix here last year, was half-a-second adrift on a 1:42.018.
Miguel Oliveira returns to action this weekend after fracturing his wrist in Germany, and didn't appear to be suffering any ill effects as the Portuguese rider clocked the 3rd quickest time of the session.
Niccolo Antonelli sneaked into the top five right at the end of the session in 4th, whilst Enea Bastianini completed the top 5.
Brad Binder was 6th on the time sheets and looks like he could be a factor come Sunday. Fabio Quartararo visits yet another circuit without any previous experience on it, but got up to speed very quickly in 7th. That compares to his team-mate Jorge Navarro, who made his GP début here last year, in 16th. The Spaniard did have a crash in the opening 10-minutes of the session, so more is yet to come for the Estrella Galicia rider.
Romano Fenati, Karel Hanika and Isaac Vinales, who makes his RBA Racing début in place of the injured Ana Carrasco after being dropped by the Husqvarna Laglisses team, complete the top 10.
