Former Formula One driver Jaime Alguersuari has confirmed he won’t be taking part in the second Formula E season after having his licence revoked after a medical problem.
The Spanish driver fainted at the Moscow ePrix and didn’t take part at the season finale in London. His place was taken by Manor Marissa test driver Fabio Leimer, although no word has been said on a replacement at the moment.
“During the month of July I underwent several tests for which there has not been a medical resolution and I am still waiting for the final diagnosis. For this reason I need to announce that, unfortunately, I will not be able to take part in the FIA Formula E Championship for the 2015/16 season with my team DS Virgin Racing.”
He also said that he would announce his future plans in September.
