Spanish Moto2 rider Ricky Cardus has been replaced at the Tech3 Racing Team with immediate effect as Cardus fell short of achieving a points scoring finish in the first half of the season.
The team were thankful to Cardus for his contributions and in particular his efforts in 2014 during a challenging season where Cardus had limited preparation ahead of the campaign.
Tech3 have instead opted for CEV Moto2 race winner Xavi Vierge to compete in the intermediate class for the remainder of the 2015 season starting at the Indianapolis GP this weekend. The 18 year old Spaniard has successfully risen through the lower classes having competed in Spanish domestic championships before joining the CEV Moto3 class for two years and then a move to the CEV Moto2 series. Vierge will now have the opportunity to show his ability through the remaining nine races of 2015 however he will have a steep learning curve this weekend having never raced at Indianapolis previously. The team (and Vierge himself) will be looking for a solid start to this new partnership.
