Ferrari have confirmed that no quick decision will be made on the future of Kimi Raikkonen, despite constant rumour he could be replaced at the team next year.
In an article by Autosport, Ferrari Team Principle Maurizio Arrivabene confirmed he is not thinking about the drivers at the moment, but the performance of the car.
“Our goal now is to focus on the car,” said Arrivabene. “We have time to talk about drivers [later].
“I thought Kimi was having a great race. Congratulations to him for what he was doing on Sunday.
“Unfortunately something happened and we didn’t have the double.”
“During the summer, you normally have a break so you are not deciding, working or thinking,” he said.
“You are swimming, climbing, going mountain biking or whatever it is – otherwise it is not a break. It is work.”
A number of drivers have been linked to the second Ferrari seat. The strongest being Valtteri Bottas, but also Romain Grosjean, Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo.
