Hans-Jurgen Abt reports that they’re “right in the middle” of development of their new car, the ABT Schaeffler FE01.
The car completed its shakedown on June 11 and the team has been busy partaking in further tests at Germany and Hungary.
Abt said: “Both Daniel and Lucas have already tested the new components; other dates are due to follow over the coming weeks.”
Formula E regulations change for next season when teams will have the opportunity to develop their own powertrains, for which ABT has been listed as a ‘manufacturer’.
Abt continued: “Obviously it’s a very special moment when a new car turns a wheel for the first time. But we also see just how much work lies ahead of us over the forthcoming weeks. The entire team is doing its utmost so that we are as well sorted as possible for the new season.”
Team Aguri also ran tests in Donington on Wednesday where both Pedro de la Rosa and Salvador Duran completed a total of 145 laps with some wet weather running.
