Dani Pedrosa's start to the 2015 MotoGP World Championship ended with him having to undergo surgery on his right arm to rectify a previous surgery he'd had to resolve arm pump. Missing the American, Argentine and Spanish Grand Prix, the Spaniard returned to action at Le Mans where he crashed after only 1 lap. Remounting to complete a race distance, Dani continued to build strength in his arm at Mugello and secured a very respectable 4th.

Now back up to near full-fitness Pedrosa had a very strong Catalan weekend. He put his Honda 6th on the grid in qualifying and went onto finish 3rd. Struggling with the RC213V's aggressiveness, though not to the extent of his team-mate, Honda now need to sort the bike as so Pedrosa can return to the top step of the podium and potentially act as tailgunner to Marc Marquez in the fight for the championship.

“I am very happy because it has been a very long process, we struggled a lot and suffer a lot in the last months, everything looked against me. I followed my heart and this was the right thing to do. I've made positive progress with each round. But finally some good results, especially in front of the home crowd was great. The team and I were struggling a bit with the bike and I hope soon we can get better and can ride with more consistency, but the podium is great for the team. Maybe some track will suit our bike more and we can improve in those situations.”
