Simone Corsi heads into qualifying for the seventh round of the 2015 Moto2 World Championship as the fastest man after topping the final free practice session. The Athina Forward Racing rider found a tow from Johann Zarco and used it to maximum effect to set a 1:46.606.
Zarco had just set the fastest lap when the Italian stole it away from the Ajo Motorsport rider, but the Frenchman is in fine form going into qualifying later today. Luis Salom was the surprise package of the morning. The Paginas Amarillas rider sat atop the timing screens for a time before being knocked down to 3rd.
Tito Rabat wasn't quite as quick as he has been this morning in 4th and ended FP3 two-tenths adrift with a 1:46.803. Another top rider who struggled was Sam Lowes. The Speed Up man was only 11th.
Alex Marquez came alive late in the session, setting the sixth quickest time of the weekend with a 1:46.955. He stormed to victory here last year in the Moto3 race, and if he can keep this up then he may be able to challenge for a maiden Moto2 podium tomorrow.
Lorenzo Baldassarri was 7th, with Franco Morbidelli, Tom Luthi and Sandro Cortese completing the top ten.
