Bastianini Top In FP3 But Kent Looking Strongest

Gresini Honda rider Enea Bastianini topped the time sheets heading into qualifying later today. The Italian, who crashed yesterday in FP1 and was forced to sit out that session, set a blistering lap of 1:50.793 late in the third free practice session and remained unchallenged as the clock counted down.
Miguel Oliveira jumped up to 2nd quickest in the closing minutes with a 1:50.814, showing that KTM will be up there come qualifying and the race. Niccolo Antonelli completed the top three with a lap of 1:50.888.
Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Navarro come to a circuit that they do not need to get to grips with as they have vast experience at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from their CEV days. The young French rider was a very decent 4th whilst Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda team-mate Navarro was two-tenths behind in 5th.
The man best in shape for qualifying without doubt is Leopard Racing Honda's Danny Kent. The Briton spent much of his session in clear air chipping away at the times, setting a 1:51.392 in the final third of the session to go top for a time. With about six-minutes to go Kent returned to his box, opting to save a fresh set of tyres than hunt down a faster lap. That just shows how confident he is.
Brad Binder was 7th quickest, with Philipp Oettl putting in another respectable 40-minute session to go 8th, Jorge Martin 9th and Isaac Vinales completing the top ten.
The warmer conditions meant track temperatures were higher than yesterday, and this caught a few riders out. Livio Loi out-braked himself coming into turn four at the start of the session and dropped his bike in the gravel. Karel Hanika and Tatsuki Suzuki both fell off coming through turn three. All three riders were unhurt.
