Ian Hutchinson took an emotional victory in the opening Supersport TT race of the 2015 Isle of Man TT. The Bingley Bullet guided his TTC Yamaha R6 to a commanding 7.7 second advantage to take his ninth TT and his first since his record breaking week back in 2010.

Bruce Anstey pushed his CBR600 Honda to its maximum but could do nothing to halt Hutchy's onslaught. The Kiwi rider very nearly ended his race before it had even begun when he clipped the kerb at the top of Bray Hill just as he set off. Gary Johnson completed the top three.

Michael Dunlop's week went from bad to worse when his Honda conked out just before Kirk Michael on lap two. Problems were evident on the opening lap when he ran wide at Signpost corner. Riding battered and bruised from his Superbike tumble, the Ballymoney rider is in doubt for the second Supersport race.

Dean Harrison joined MD on the sidelines when his Mar-Train Yamaha gave up the ghost at the Crosby section of track on the second lap, whilst Guy Martin was handed a 30-second time penalty for a pit-lane infringement. Despite this the Lincolnshire rider managed to get his Triumph 675 back up to 5th.

Ten-seconds in front of Guy was fellow Triumph rider Lee Johnston. James Hillier, John McGuinness, Conor Cummins, Dan Kneen and David Johnson completed the top ten.
